Our goal was to deliver a tech-led, forward-looking accountancy service to aspiring local SMEs. Alongside our early clients, our business has evolved and expanded. Today we are a carefully selected team of 15 delivering a full range of online accountancy and business advisory services across the UK.

Matt is the Director at Approved Accounting, leveraging a background that encompasses general practice and industry specific roles.
About Matt
Matt is one of the two Directors at Approved Accounting, leveraging a background that encompasses general practice and industry specific roles, he combines exceptional accounting knowledge with more specialist areas, such as, financial modelling and corporate finance. Matt is also a fellow of the ICAEW.
Roles in the software sector as Financial Planning & Analysis and later as Finance Director, have developed his skills in implementing accounting systems seamlessly within businesses, irrespective of their size. His expertise helps clients create efficient financial systems that work seamlessly and pave the way for real commercial growth.
Driven by a passion for innovation and efficiency, Matt is dedicated to staying at the forefront of industry trends and technological advancements. He is committed to continually enhancing the company's capabilities to better serve its clients.
Beyond work, you’ll find Matt in the great outdoors. A dedicated runner, he also has a passion for mountains, which fuels his natural sense of adventure and determination.
Marcus Tout
Insolvency Practitioner
Marcus specialises in Members’ Voluntary Liquidations (“MVLs”). In 2019 Marcus became a licensed Insolvency Practitioner.

With a passion for delivering exceptional client service, Marcus was eager to start up a firm of Insolvency Practitioners that focused solely on providing MVLs to small companies. Kath continued her journey at one of the top accounting outsourcing companies in the Philippines where she was exposed to working with different companies from Australia and UK. She then broadened her horizons and gained valuable international experience by working in the United Arab Emirates. Kath is now a valued member of Approved Accounting, where she continues to make a significant impact in the field.

Aaron joined Approved Accounting in 2017, having achieved a first-class honours degree in BSc Economics from Portsmouth University.

Aaron joined Approved Accounting in 2017, having achieved a first-class honours degree in BSc Economics from Portsmouth University. Specialising in CIS, Management Accounting and Option Schemes, he has become an astute and talented accountant and an extremely valued member of the team. Aaron is highly regarded by our clients for his welcoming personality, intuitive nature and commitment to excellent service. Having recently relocated to Latvia, he spends his weekends seeking out Riga’s best spots for honey cake. Along with exploring the cities and towns of his new home, Aaron enjoys sports and is a big football fan.

Before joining Approved Accounting in 2020, she was based in Sydney, Australia where she was exposed to industries such as real estate, tech startups, and pension fund management. Her background in external audit and years as a business services accountant equipped her with knowledge on working with various business structures. Nina is passionate about keeping up with new industry standards and technology, which helps her deliver exceptional service to our clients. Outside of work, she enjoys true crime documentaries and outdoor activities.

Specialising in the preparation of income tax returns and monthly reports, Ashley has worked with clients across various industries, from sole traders to large companies. She has impeccable attention to detail and is highly regarded for delivering reliable results and excellent service. Outside of her work, you’ll find her trying out new activities such as sky diving and free diving. She has an adventurous spirit and loves travelling at every opportunity. She is also passionate about arts and crafts.

Sonny entered the industry in 2015 and gained six years of experience with another firm before joining Approved Accounting in the summer of 2021.

Sonny entered the industry in 2015 and gained six years of experience with another firm before joining Approved Accounting in the summer of 2021. He has considerable experience in various accounting disciplines, having worked as a bookkeeper to leading business planning exercises. His extensive tax knowledge and ability to assess complex tax positions led him to specialise in both corporation tax and personal tax. Sonny has had great success working with our clients on strategic tax planning and efficiencies. Outside of work Sonny is a keen athlete and spends most weekday evenings either running or in the gym to help with his football playing obsession on the weekend.

She is a Xero Certified Advisor and excels in preparing statutory accounts and managing tax returns for a variety of business structures – from sole traders to large companies. With a strong background in financial reporting and a keen eye for detail, she ensures accuracy and compliance in every task she undertake and committed to deliver precise and timely information.
Before joining Approved Accounting, she has gained valuable experience at another firm, where she handled year-end accounts, tax computations and monthly accounts while improving financial reporting processes.
Outside of work, she loves spending time with family and friends, enjoys playing and watching sports, and a big fan of volleyball.

Hannah is our Business Coordinator and as such, one of the first points of contact for new clients. Previously a solicitor in the city, Hannah brings a wealth of legal expertise to her role, ensuring the smooth onboarding of new clients with both care and professionalism.
Hannah is committed to continually enhancing the company’s capabilities to better serve its clients. Outside of work, she is an avid traveller and enjoys adventures with her family. She particularly enjoys skiing and getting lost in the pages of a good book.
